Sid Cassidy, ISCA Hall of Fame Class of 2024

On September 21, 2024, Saint Andrew’s Aquatics Director, Coach Stephan “Sid” Cassidy, was honored with induction into the International Swim Coaches Association (ISCA) Hall of Fame.

On September 21, 2024, Saint Andrew’s Aquatics Director, Coach Stephan “Sid” Cassidy, was honored with induction into the International Swim Coaches Association (ISCA) Hall of Fame. Cassidy’s lifelong dedication to the sport, especially in open-water swimming, earned him this prestigious recognition.

Cassidy has been a key figure in open-water swimming since the 1980s. He served as a coach and administrator for USA Swimming and played a pivotal role in bringing the 10K Olympic Marathon Swim to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His coaching career also includes time as head coach at James Madison University and the University of Miami, where he mentored over 30 All-American swimmers.

For nearly 20 years, Cassidy has shaped the aquatics program at Saint Andrew's, earning five Florida High School Coach of the Year awards. Under his leadership, many Saint Andrew’s swimmers have reached national and Olympic levels. Cassidy also co-owns Saint Andrew’s Aquatics and the Florida Swim School with his wife, Kara.

Cassidy’s induction into the ISCA Hall of Fame reflects his lasting impact on the swimming community and his dedication to Saint Andrew’s School. His legacy continues to inspire future generations of athletes.
